The Gambia Horticultural Enterprises (GHE) was established in October 1990 as a Sole Proprietorship. It is the Gambia’s largest dealer / distributor of farm and garden inputs such as seeds, fertilizer, pesticides, garden tools / equipment, etc. It provides a ‘one-stop-shop’ for the needs of the farming community.

Other activities include the growing and marketing of fresh fruits and vegetables in the local and export markets in Europe thus, providing valuable market outlets for agricultural producers. It also provides professional Pest Control Services as well as Consultancy in Horticulture and Agribusiness.

The business has experienced steady growth and success since its establishment, mainly due to its long-standing experience of the horticultural sub-sector, support from banks, notably Trust Bank Ltd., business partners abroad and the dedication, innovativeness and hard work of its young, dynamic staff. The company has a management and field staff of over 70 employees and growing. In almost 20  years GHE grew from a small office in the Proprietor’s home to a large company located on the main Banjul – Serrekunda Highway. In addition, the company’s growing business activities have enabled it to acquire farmlands totalling over 100 hectares, and start a Food Processing Center.
